Grace Lutheran School
Grace Lutheran School's Mission is to provide a Christ-centered program that will nurture the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical development of each child in the school. We believe that Christ died for all people so that by faith in Him we are His children in one family.
Our school is unique in that we have combined classes from preschool through third grade. We build our student's spiritual foundation through daily Bible lessons, Prayer, Scripture memorization, and weekly Chapel with Pastor Malm. We build our student's academic foundation through traditional teaching methods using the Abeka curriculum, which is phonics based.
Elementary school is Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 2:45pm. 3-day Preschool is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00am through 10:30am. 2-day Preschool is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am through 10:30am.

Welcome back to school K-3 students!  This year we are working on going paperless so that we can update things and you will have access to the current information from wherever you have internet access. After we have worked out a few issues, we will NOT send home a weekly newsletter. You will have access to the weekly newsletter on the school website gracedc.church/school. Please take the time to go to the website and see the changes that have been made.     We’ll usually send home work papers on Friday, except for Preschool. Their papers go home after each of their school days. Please look through your child's papers at least once in a while, if you can. That way, you can see how they are progressing. Sometimes we have the students correct their work, sometimes we just mark what the answer should have been. If you ever have any questions, please let us know.      The Frederick family will be bringing in a hot lunch for the Kindergarten through Third Grade students on Thursday, September 10th. You may still pack a lunch if your child would perfer that, or you can skip packing a lunch that day!      Mrs. Hansen is working on the communication phone app, so 1-3 grade parents should have gotten some kind of invitation to download the Remind app. Please take some time to do that in the next week and let Mrs. Hansen know if you cannot do apps with your phone. After she gets the app up and running with the older group, she will send the invitations to the K and Preschool parents, too. We would like to transition to giving important group information only through the Remind app.     If anyone is available to wait for the bus students to arrive in the mornings, please let us know. All you have to do is drive over to the gate and wait until they get off the bus to make sure they walk over to the building safely. The bus has been arriving between 7:50 and 7:55, so it only requires you to wait maybe 10 minutes. Thanks!     This week we worked on learning the habits that will make our classroom run smoothly and getting used to the schedule and routines. We do not have school Fri., Sept. 4th or Mon. Sept. 7th. Have a great long weekend! Happy Labor Day! |

Mrs. Karen's Class Notes The kindergarten class has had a great start to the school year! Â We are learning our classroom routines and getting used to the schedule. Â We will be learning poems this year and the first poem we learned is titled, The Little Turtle. Â We did a listening activity to a poem called, Colors. Â They did a great job listening and coloring the objects in the poem. Â We also learned the letter Ii and met our Ii friend, Itchy Inchworm. Â Then, we found a real inchworm outside on the playground! Â We also had fun painting and playing with shaving cream! |

Mrs. Hansen's Class Notes    1-3rd Grades will be having spelling words every week starting next week. They will usually have homework every weekend (writing out the spelling list one time) and we will do some practice at school, but I expect every student to review the words at home as well. Even if they review only a few minutes a day, it helps. We will have a spelling pre-test on Thursdays and then the final test on Fridays. When we have a short week, the final test will be on Thursday.     Here are the spelling words for next week.Â
